The whole setup of the movie thus far had it all pointing to Teddy as the rapist and murderer of Leonard’s wife but what a twist I just learned from your post. Leonard’s only way of getting by without being able to make new memories requires him take physical notes instead of memories. His tattoos, notes, and pictures are important to him. To imagine that the one time he did not write anything down pinned his suspicions on the man who helps him.
